"Just lifting your hand can make this iron ‘grow feet’!" On April 28, at the exhibition hall of the Ningbo Heiger Electric Co., Ltd. in the Chongshou Town, Qianwan New Area, General Manager Yao Nengyi demonstrated the latest Oliso adjustable steam iron to clients.
As she casually placed the high-temperature iron on the tabletop, the moment her hand released it, a pair of supports automatically extended from the base, lifting the entire unit steadily about 1 cm above the surface. "Our products are highly competitive internationally, making them irresistible to American customers," Yao said. Recently, the company shipped five orders worth over a million yuan each to the U.S., including this adjustable steam iron. "The handle has a built-in pressure sensor. When touched, the supports retract for easy use, and when released, they lift the iron for cooling," Yao explained. In daily use, users often step away mid-operation, risking fabric or surface damage and safety hazards. Heiger addressed this pain point by co-designing the iron with clients. Since its launch, over a million units have been sold, now upgraded to the second generation, adding 2 to 3 million US Dollars in annual sales.
"No matter how the market changes, product competitiveness is eternal," said Yao. As a veteran in steam appliance R&D for over 20 years, Heiger adheres to "supreme quality and unique offerings." This year, the company has frequently launched new products, with over 20 planned, with a 100% year-on-year increase, while R&D investment as a share of revenue also doubled.
Take a mini iron as an example: compact and portable, palm-sized and lightweight, it fits easily into a backpack. Small but fully functional, this "tiny wonder" offers standard features like precise temperature control and adjustable steam, plus a "Burst" mode for powerful wrinkle removal. Its design is also meticulous—sleek mouse-like curves on the front and a cute, rounded bear-like back. Thanks to its exquisite outlook and practical functions, its debut at the 138th Canton Fair won over global buyers. Set for a September launch, it has already secured 100,000+ pre-orders.
Innovation is Heiger’s "moat" for high-quality growth. In March, it launched a self-developed "3-in-1" handheld steamer, resembling a mini hairdryer. "Small yet mighty, it combines an iron, steamer, and fabric shaver," Yao Nengyi introduced. Developed over a year with hundreds of trials to refine its structure and synergy, it’s a hit, with 2025 sales projected to exceed 200,000 units. Now, Heiger is transforming into an integrated innovator in R&D, design, production, and sales, driven by market needs and user scenarios, deeply involved from design to functionality. "We’ll keep honing our strengths, relentlessly innovating with technology as the engine and smart manufacturing as the backbone, to deliver ever more competitive products," Yao affirmed.
